Job Description – Operations Engineer for Shanghai Expo 2010
The successful candidate will be part of the Shanghai world Expo 2010 who will support the technical operations of a world class networking equipment briefing & demonstration facility. The candidate will provide support for the equipment and networking infrastructure that runs this facility.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Maintenance of infrastructure, existing demonstrations, tracking equipment repairs , returns and operational readiness
• Support and assist in upgrading and setting up and deployment of new demonstrations
• Installation of Windows and Linux operating systems, support applications, basic configuration of *** and *** equipment and troubleshooting of network topologies
• Assign and administer a range of IP subnets and addresses
• Purchase and order of demo equipment as required
• Administer and provide access control to the briefing facilities
Skills Required:
• Basic knowledge of *** products and technologies.
• Knowledge of networking topologies and protocols, IP addressing, network planning and maintenance, networking equipment logistics and maintenance, network equipment installation and configuration, inventory tracking and management
• Project and vendor management skills are desired
• Able to work competently with PC windows based applications and perform installations of Windows and UNIX operating systems
• A highly motivated individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Results oriented, able to multitask and prioritize. Able to work independently and under pressure
• Fluency in both English and Mandarin and able to communicate with the regional team across *** in English
• *** CCNA certification is desired
Educational Qualification:
BS/BA or Diploma in IT /Engineering.
